Windows Sidebar and Gadgets

One of the neat features you’ll see in Windows 7 which is also available in Windows Vista is the sidebar and gadgets. Windows sidebar is a pane set up on the right side of the screen by default. You can customize the sidebar and move it to other locations if you wish. Within this sidebar are gadgets.

These gadgets are mini-applications and there are plenty to choose from. They can connect to web services, provide news updates, sports updates, weather information and even monitor the CPU processor on your pc. Some specific examples are gadgets for Fox News, CNN, Weatherbug, ESPN, Google and for you financial folks there is a stock ticker gadget. Windows 7 provides the user with pre-installed gadgets, however, you can download many more by browsing the web.
